La Quinta Golf and Country Club consists of 27 holes situated in what is known as "The Golf Valley" and commands the best panoramic views of the mountains and Marbella coastline. On a clear day the scenery is quite stunning. Opened in 1989 it was designed by the Spanish Ryder Cup players Antonio Garrido and Manuel Pinero and it is also a popular place to play by other visiting Spanish professionals such as Seve Ballesteros and Jose Maria Olazabal particularly as Manuel Pinero has his golf academy here. Each of the nine holes can be combined to make the eighteen and whatever the combination the course will present a challenge to even the most able golfer
