Portmarnock Hotel & Golf Links opened in 1995 and has played host to GUI, PGA and ILGU events. Designed by Bernhard Langer - it is an outstanding venue for a golfing break, the championship links covers 180 acres of classic terrain and is set in the grounds of a deluxe international hotel, once home to the Jameson family celebrated for their Irish Whiskey. In 1858 they developed their own private golf course, one of the earliest in Ireland and Bernhard Langer has incorporated part of the original layout. Here, professional and amateur alike can appreciate a links that combines all the charms of a traditional links with the challenge of the modern game. Measuring 6295 metres, the 1st tee and 18th green are conveniently situated just a wedge shot from the hotel and clubhouse with a short game practice area located nearby. Caddies, buggies, electric trolleys, trolleys and clubs are available for hire from our Golf Shop. “There are very few locations in Europe which could have allowed me the opportunity and landscape to design such a classic championship links I hope all those who play it discover its magic and challenging beauty” Bernhard Langer “It was a great honour to represent Portmarnock Hotel & Golf Links, which in my opinion is one of the best courses in Europe. Bernhard Langer’s design provides a challenge for golfers of all abilities, but low handicap players will need precision driving, a sharp short game, and good course management to achieve a good score” Darren Clarke Our Osborne Restaurant is named after the famous Irish artist Walter Osborne, who as a guest of the Jameson family painted the view of Ireland’s Eye from the grounds of the hotel. The Osborne opens Tuesdays to Saturdays, where our award winning Executive Chef presides over his culinary masterpieces. In the Jameson bar, residents, golfers and locals alike can mix and enjoy excellent dining in a relaxed setting. Course and hotel lie side by side against the dunes of Ireland’s East Coast, just 11 miles from Dublin City, 2 miles from Malahide a charming seaside village and 6 miles from Dublin International Airport.
