Tucked in the storybook setting of Carton House are two of Ireland’s most acclaimed golf courses, home to The 2004 and 2005 AIB Irish Amateur Open Championship and The 2005 and 2006 Nissan Irish Open.
The award winning Montgomerie course presents the golfer with a very different challenge of head high pot bunkers, fast running greens and narrow fairways weaving through fields of native fescue grasses. The O’Meara parkland course tests its players by utilising the rolling land of the estate and the majestic waters of the River Rye. Very different in nature, both courses abound with a style and class consistent with the Carton estate.
Built in 1739 and designed by the famed architect Richard Castles, the magnificent silhouette of Carton House overlooks one of Ireland’s most impressive country estates with majestic authority.
