In 1993, Tom Reid, a second generation farmer and his wife breda, completely changed their way of living. Converting their 1780 period home into a club House, establishing Glasson Golf & Country Club, they have developed one of the country\\\'s finest Golf Courses. Designed by Christy O\\\' Connor Jnr., it has unrivalled views of the magnificent Lough Ree.
Bord Failte recently commissioned an American Photographer to visit Ireland\\\'s top five courses and Glasson was chosen as one of these. Tom is justifiably proud of this fact, saying that \\\"We have made a good impression in the Golfing World\\\".
The Reid family are optimistic that Glasson will go from strength to strength. With the new hotel and the continued interest from domestic and overseas visitors in the Lough Ree area, a success story such as the Reid\\\'s is an encouragement to those who wish to make the most of their area.
